Love In The Proper Perspective

This Friday, Jubilee will be having a Teddy Bear Picnic at school. Jubilee’s been saying that she wants to bring Dolly. Today she said, “I will bring Dolly, but I really want to bring a bunny.”

I said, “You can bring a bunny.”

“Oh, then I’ll bring Cuddly.” (Pronounced Cuddle-y in case you’re wondering.) She continued, “Cuddly is my favorite stuffed animal.”

“Y’know Jubilee,” I said, “you don’t have to have one favorite. You can have lots of favorites because you love them all.”

Then out the blue, Jubilee declares, “But I love God the most.”

9am!

I woke up, lazily drifting back and forth between awake and asleep. Finally, I could hear David moving around.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“9am,” he replied.

Wow, the children are all still asleep? Amazing. Seconds later, of course, we heard the babies chattering. Jubilee came out of her room a few minutes later. But that had to have been the best gift in the whole wide world.

A Furby Amen!

Last thing before we turn out their bedroom light at night, we pray for the twins. Tonight, upon saying, “Amen”, Angelina said “Amen”… and then Maddie said “Amen”! And then Angelina said “Amen” and then Maddie said “Amen” and then Angelina said “Amen”, and so on.

They were still doing this as we closed the door, so no idea how long it went on.

Startled

Jubilee had just climbed into her bed. The room light was off. I walked in to her room while she was sitting there playing with Big Blue Bunny. She jumped slightly when I talked to her.

“When you came in I went like this,” Jubilee shook a bit, displaying her being startled. I believe this was the first time she experienced this feeling!

Passing Out The Goods

Don’t ask me how Angelina and Madeleine became attached to both a pacifier AND a blankie. (Madeleine actually has two tiny baby towels causing David to refer to them as “hankey blankies.”)

If we don’t place these security objects in their cribs such that they’re out of reach, Angel and Maddie will no doubt get them. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve let them out of their crib and a few minutes later find them walking around the house holding their pacifiers and clutching to their blankies.

Today, I saw a true act of kindness. Twice! I’d just gotten them out of their cribs. They had tossed their pacifiers and blankies on the floor after waking up, so they were within easy reach. Maddie grabbed both her things and Angel’s. But she wasn’t hogging them. She gave Angel’s objects to her! In fact, on the second time, Maddie put the pacifier into Angel’s mouth!

It was so sweet. If only they shared like this all the time.

Toe Eating

While Angel and Maddie were eating lunch in their high chairs, Jubilee had the silly idea of pretending to eat their toes. They thought it was funny.

After I took Maddie down from her high chair, she walked over to Angel’s high chair and started to eat her toes!

Monkey see, piggy do!

We’ve Got Another Walker!

For a few weeks, Madeleine has been walking a lot, but if she falls down, she has to scoot over to something she can hold onto in order to raise herself up. On Friday night, I saw Madeleine stand up without holding onto anything. She still scoots sometimes, but for the most part she prefers to walk. I think it’s official!
