While driving up to Grammy’s house, Madeleine was crying and crying.. not sleeping. We eventually pulled over and I said (and signed) “Maddie, more milk?” Then she eagerly panted and nodded her head. It was so cute.
It’s so helpful now that she is learning to respond to yes/no questions.
Redondo Beach! Redondo Beach!
Gonna see Cayley and Capri!
Auntie Andrea and Uncle Trozak
Redondo Beach is where they’re at!
Auntie Cyrena and Uncle Scot
And a fox
In the forrest
I already forgot the last line. Can you tell what I made up and what she made up?
I’ll edit it the next time I talk to Jubilee. Hopefully she remembers the ending.
Pau-Pau and Gaun-Gaun took Jubilee to Redondo Beach tonight. She’s been so excited the entire week. Before going she was a little clingy (wanting to be with me wherever I went while I packed the car). I wasn’t worried, but it was certainly different from the rest of the week’s. So I tried to distract her by making up a chant.
Later tonight Gaun-Gaun called to say they arrived safely. David answered the phone. When asked if she wanted to talk to Daddy, she said no. She wanted to talk to Mommy!
Me: Hello?
Jubilee: Hi Mommy.
Me: Hi Jubilee!
Jubilee: I just wanted to tell you good night.
Wasn’t that sweet?
We’re rearranging the living room right now. So the children are roaming semi-freely all around. In an hour, Madeleine accomplished two new feats.
One, she learned to “sit” downstairs. Apparently she was sitting at the step that leads to our sunken living room. A few seconds later she was in the living room!
Two, David and I were in our bedroom after putting the babies in the contained part of the living room. Jubilee ran in shouting “Surprise, Madeleine climbed up the step!” She was on the kitchen floor playing with some of Jubilee’s play-doh canisters.
We thought with the rearranging of the furniture, maybe she had used the newly moved playwall to push herself up. David moved everything away and sure enough, she can do it all by herself.
Good news: Madeleine is growing up! Bad news: just yesterday we had moved a lot of not-for-baby items into the kitchen.
Angelina got roseola this week. Even though they share toys, utensils, pacifiers, and sometimes even bottles, Madeleine did not.
Now two of of our three children have had the pasta virus.
I just sneaked a peak at the babies to see if they were asleep. Angelina, yes. Madeleine, unsure. I take a closer look and see that she is in a faux upright position. Her legs are spread out, but her torso has fallen to forward. Her head has hit the mattress. Before I could take a picture, she sat up. Then she fell backward against the crib side. I was afraid she would cry, but she ended up sliding downward still asleep.
On the way to Pau-Pau and Gaun-Gaun’s house, I “asked” Jubilee to help me get there. I reminded her which way is right, straight, and left.
We started after we exited the freeway. She basically got it all correct. The only part she had trouble was when we had to turn when there wasn’t a stop sign. But at each S-T-O-P stop!, she knew where to go. Impressive!
Yay, Jubilee had a happy dream last night! She woke up us (around 6am!) to say “Mommy, Daddy, I want to tell you something.” She usually has nightmares so we were happy for her. In the past, the two dreams she remembered had to with an creature (an ant and a shark) biting her foot. But last night, this is what she dreamed:
“Isaiah’s soccer friends came over to Pau-Pau and Gaun-Gaun’s house and some of Isaiah’s bigger boys came over to Pau-Pau and Gaun-Gaun’s house and while the soccer friends were taking pictures of Isaiah and Isaac playing tug of war over the pool and after they were done everybody else watched Josiah and me go down the tunnel.”
This morning, David found Angelina sitting upright and thought it was cute.
I, on the other hand, am not currently finding it cute.
Angelina did not sleep during her morning nap. When I went in to see what was wrong, she was sitting up and most of her toys had been thrown out of the crib, including her pacifier. I had to ask Jubilee to crawl under the crib to get it!
It happened a second time in her morning nap. And just now, when I put her down for her afternoon nap, 3 minutes later I returned to the room to put Madeleine down and Angelina was already upright.
David is picking Jubilee up from preschool today so I get a longer time to myself than usual. Unless them babies don’t give me their regular nap duration…aaahhhhh!
Madeleine sit up from her tummy too! (We haven’t observed it, but we’ll call it a first.)
