Poor Angelina…

That’s gotta hurt.

Sleepless in San Jose

Jubilee hasn’t been sleeping well (at night) the last few days. She’s having quite a few nightmares or night terrors, and she eventually ends up in our bed for some portion of the night. The doctor suggested this could be due to so many changes in our family life right now, but we really don’t know. So far Jubilee has never been able to communicate her dreams to us.

It was late at night and I was cleaning up after feeding the twins. Daphne came stumbling over to me, trying to suppress hysterical laughter. She had checked up on Jubilee and found her in the following position:

Note: Even her dolly is upside down!!

Rolling, rolling, rolling..

Several times now, Madeleine rolled from her stomach onto her back.

What Do You Know?

It did rain last night. I looked out the window around 7am and saw that it was wet outside. How’s that for irony? (Technically, I don’t think irony is the correct term, but David’s not around to correct me and Julie is not online for me to ask.

The rest of the night went better. After the initial 3 hour stretch (11pm to 2am), they slept until 6:30am and then 9:45am. That did wonders to our bodies.

But you know what made it magical? Jubilee stayed in her room until after 9:30am! She came into our rooms to tell us the babies were awake. So the three of us stayed laid in bed together quietly (Jubilee too!) until Angelina and Madeleine began stirring enough to motivate us out of bed.

Finally, do you want to know what made everything miraculous? Michelle is feeling better!

pi/2 Radian

Now it’s Angelina’s turn to turn, heh heh heh. Last night she rotated a quarter turn. That’s 90 degrees. Or pi/2 radian.

And Then It Began to Rain

You know how in a movie, when everything seems to be going wrong and the situation couldn’t get any worse, it always starts to rain? Well it might as well have rained all day and evening…

First, Tio Gary and Tia Samm and their boys leave.
Then Grammy leaves.
Then Michelle says she thinks something she ate didn’t agree with her.
Then David wakes up from his nap aching all over.
Then Michelle throws up.
Then Jubilee has a slight fever.
Then Pau-Pau and Gaun-Gaun leave.
Then I wake up from a nap and can barely walk because I pulled a neck and back muscle, along with indigestion.
Then Angelina and Madeleine don’t make a 4 hour stretch in the middle of the night.
Did I mention they also napped terribly today?

Now we’re just waiting for the rain.

(Note: David thinks his soreness is due to playing football the day before. You can only imagine how relieved I am to know he’s not sick. Also, Jubilee seemed better after taking Tylenol.)

Cousin Michelle

We have a cousin*, on David’s side, who will be staying with us a few weeks as a nanny. We are so thankful for her willingness to serve our family!

*2nd cousin in American culture. I think she’s called a niece in Chinese culture.

Eyelashes

Both Angelina and Madeleine have beautiful eyelashes. They’re very long, which is not typical of Chinese eyelashes.

Nursing Update

I’ve managed to tandem nurse several times now! They aren’t able to get a full feeding that way, so they still end up using a bottle during that session.

Please pray that they won’t be dependent on bottles anymore. It will save time and require fewer people to feed the babies.

180 Degrees

Madeleine now “spins” around during tummy time. She rotated half a circle!
