Jubilee had her first bacterial infection. On Feb. 9th, she started having a runny nose, so I figured she had a little cold, no big deal. Then a cough began forming. Then it continued and started getting worse. A week later, she had a fever which is the doctor’s sign for “come see me.” Her lung was congested, so the doctor prescribed an inhaler and yummy amoxicillan (y’know, the pink stuff?). Giving a baby an inhaler requires a mask, similar to the oxygen masks you see in airplane safety instructions. Jubilee doesn’t like it all.

Four days later, Jubilee wasn’t improving, so the doctor told me to switch from the inhaler to using a nebulizer. It’s a stronger version of the medication. I thought it was difficult to give the inhaler to Jubilee. Well, on a good day, I could do the inhaler by myself. With the nebulizer…never! We had to have one person pin her down and keep her head from moving so the other could hold the nebulizer mask to her face.

This is a nebulizer. Don’t let the happy child model fool you.
But praise God, the nebulizer and all other medications kicked in and she was back to being happy as a clam. Actually, she was happy as a clam the whole time, with the exception of during the fever and after a couple naps.
