Awhile back, maybe a month ago, Jubilee began scrunching her nose and doing this sniffing kind of thing. Sometimes it looked like she was doing it for fun, but sometimes David and I thought she was trying to convey something. Well anyway, this week she’s been doing it even more. It seems that with her stuffy cold, she’s enjoying the sensation of feeling her snot go up and down!

Jubilee’s nose started running more than usual yesterday. And she’s been coughing a bit too. Or is just that she doesn’t like carrots and is trying to spit them out? That’s what I thought at first, but she’s coughed a few more times after that. And just a few minutes ago, she splattered spit-up twice…once BEFORE feeding and once AFTER. That was strange.
Y’know what’s ironic? She got sick the day before the rain. As we were getting in the car, as well as driving on the road, the thunder BOOMED, but she was unfazed. Probably because she was born during the rainy season.
Today Alice and her girls came over for a visit. We had a nice time talking. Karissa and Kaitlyn ran around the house and at one point, I’m positive that Jubilee watched them take off, wishing with all of her might that she could run with them.
I’d been hesitant to feed fruit to Jubilee in case she would begin preferring them over not-as-sweet vegetables. What was there to fear? While feeding applesauce for the first time, I noticed that Jubilee jerked her head back a few times and did this sort of double-take with a face of shock. After the third time, it dawned on me, “Hey, she doesn’t like this!” I had my mom taste the applesauce and she said, “I think it’s a little sour.” Ugh, I should’ve known better than to cook 5 apples worth of applesauce!
The story gets even better. Since I gave up on applesauce, I moved on to bananas. I had to run an errand, so David prepared it and fed Jubilee. (Should I point out that “preparing bananas” involves merely mashing it up with a fork?) When I returned, David said, “I don’t think she likes it.” Hmm…oh well.
Today Jubilee had an opportunity to go to a photo shoot! No, not a baby modeling opportunity (which we want to do but don’t know how), but with 5 other of her baby friends! The six moms and babies met at The Picture People and thanks to Vanessa’s free session, the six babies attempted to sit together without crying. Didn’t quite work. But, we managed to get some decent photos and crying or not, they’re all so cute together!
